ABOUT

Nichelle Davis is a native of Miami, FL and graduate from the University of Florida, where she double-majored in Sociology and Criminology, and triple minored in Women Studies, Educational Studies, and Leadership. Upon graduation, she returned to Miami, FL to join the Teach for America 2014 Corp where she taught for 2 years before relocating to Atlanta, GA where she continued her teaching career. 

 

Outside of the classroom she engages in policy and advocacy work in her community, promotes voter education and awareness, has worked on local election campaigns, serves as a community organizer with the Atlanta Coalition for Educational Equity (ACEE), and as a leader within her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the Rho Zeta Omega Chapter as the Connection and Social Action Committee Chairman.

 

Through all of her work, she hopes to promote civic engagement in the community, champion voter education and the right to fair and accessible elections, and be an agent of change to uplift communities of color by bridging the gap for educational equity. She believes that awareness, knowledge, and action are the means by which we create lasting societal change.
